A couple of years ago, my parents blessed my siblings and I with a trip to Alaska. I remember waking early in the morning and glimpsing, for the first time, the mountains of that great state. I’m not even sure the word mountain can describe those ancient, craggy giants bursting from the ocean. In that moment, I felt as if I’d never before seen mountains. The ranges I’d visited in the past seemed like mere hills in comparison. I was truly in awe. The majesty, beauty, and wildness of creation overwhelmed me, and I realized that my God was far bigger than I realized. I recall the width and depth of my faith expanding as I looked on those rocky bluffs.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.” Psalm 50:2
