3 AM. Thank you insomnia. After mindlessly scrolling for a while, I turned to the Bible. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, but this verse struck me as funny. My jar is fragile, for sure. Thank you, auto-immune. But as I pondered the rest of the verse, it’s truth shone through. The fragility of my body emphasizes the presence of Christ in me.
Everyday, I’m aware of His strength and power. I rarely take this for granted. When you have to pray for the energy to lead Bible study, you don’t take credit when the lesson goes well. When you’re tired and grumpy, you know where your love and patience with others comes from.
My fragile jar and its influence on my faith leads me to say, “I’m proud to boast of my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power can work through me.” (2 Cor 12:9)
