John 10:10 says that Christ came so that we can have life and have it abundantly. NLT translates those words as a “rich and satisfying life.” However, many believers do not experience an abundant or satisfying life. We cannot get the fullness Christ offers unless we are all in. If we are sporadic in our faith walk, we don’t experience all the richness available to us. What should a faith walk look like? Acts 2:42 describes it this way, “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” Devoted is a heavy word. It means loyal, given to, committed. This verse also implies devotion to both private (prayer) and corporate (fellowship) worship. Examine your commitments. Do they reveal a life devoted to Christ or other things? I want everyone to experience life abundantly, but it won’t happen without abundant commitment through study, fellowship, and prayer.
